My former tenant is refusing to pay the entire cost of damages to my condo. We did not have a contract, as the tenant was a friend of mine. Do I have any right to ask for the remainder owed me (for damages)? If yes, what would be the best way to go about obtaining payment? In addition, the carpet needs to be repaired, but I have not yet repaired it, as I am afraid of not being paid for its cost. Am I able to ask for payment for the repair estimate? Thanks in advance to anyone and everyone who responds.
