  • Sewage problems (Louisiana)

Louisiana. My mother lives next door to me, but refuses to do anything about raw sewage coming from her septic tank, which has been going on for a year now. The problem is that I have become the land owner, but she has her mobile home, and has someone else living in it, and they will not fix the problem. Can I be fined? And should I have it capped off ?She was to be responsible for her part, but the tank is on my side, by my house, not affecting her? Thank you.

If the tank is on your property, you are the one responsible for it. Get it pumped. It is too full. This is a health hazard. Handle this promptly.
