An Albany Law School alumnus was sworn in Jan. 3 as the new top attorney in a federal court district covering the Capital Region. Richard Hartunian, 48, is now interim U.S. Attorney for the northern district of New York. One division of the district is centered in Albany.
President Obama nominated Hartunian to the position last month, pending confirmation by the U.S. Senate. A vote has not been set. In the meantime, Hartunian has begun serving in the job on an acting basis.
