Manchester Metropolitan University offering qualifying law degrees recognised in England, Wales and Northern Ireland
Manchester Metropolitan University is a university based in the city of Manchester, England. It is the fifth largest university in the United Kingdom after the Open University, the University of London, University of Manchester and Leeds Metropolitan University.
The University now has over 21,000 full-time and 10,000 part-time students locally known as metties. As of 2005[update], there are hundreds of courses in over 70 subjects. It maintains five campuses in Manchester, as well as two in Crewe and Alsager in Cheshire. The university is currently selling off its smaller campuses and moving them to the larger sites at All Saints and Crewe, and a new campus neighbouring All Saints in Hulme. There are also plans to expand those three sites to accommodate the extra students and staff.

About the Faculty
The Faculty offers a wide range of programmes at diploma, undergraduate and postgraduate levels in humanities, law and social science, attracting more than 5,000 students from a diverse range of backgrounds, most of whom are studying on full-time programmes. The programmes provide a variety of study opportunities and students are encouraged to develop skills relevant to employment. Through a wide network of links with overseas institutions, there is also the opportunity to study overseas.
Subjects offered at undergraduate level include: Economics, English, History, Information & Communications, Languages (French, German, Italian and Spanish), Law, Philosophy, Politics, Public Services and Sociology (including Cultural Studies and Criminology provision).
The Faculty also contributes to the University Combined Honours Programme provision – see the Combined Honours website for more details.
The Faculty’s postgraduate community is large and still growing; students are registered for the degree of PhD, MPhil or MA. There are taught Masters in areas including Creative Writing, Contemporary Literature, Globalisation, Information and Library Management, Philosophy and Sociology.
Within the School of Law the Graduate Diploma in Law, the Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice (LPC) and the Postgraduate Diploma Legal Practice at the Bar (Bar Vocational Course) are offered.
The Faculty is the location for a number of specialist research centres and there are a wide range of Faculty-wide, departmental-based and cross University seminars held to promote discussion and disseminate research findings. Students are invited to participate in research seminars and attend performances, readings and events.

A comprehensive portfolio of legal studies is offered, including both academic and professional law courses, short courses and consultancy for the legal profession, other professions and commerce.
