New Home for Glamorgan Law School
Glamorgans law school has recently moved to Ty Crawshay, a grade II listed building on the Treforest campus. The building houses dedicated facilities for law students including a moot courtroom, postgraduate study areas and interview practice rooms. This development forms part of the University's ?£140m campus development. See for yourself and watch an introduction to the Law School video.
Mock moot courtroom with video facilities
The new facilities include a mock moot courtroom with state-of-the-art technology. Here, students can hone their advocacy skills in a realistic environment and build confidence in a courtroom setting. Not only do they gain the knowledge, skills and values that employers want, but they also use the latest technology to prepare for a successful career.
Interview practice rooms
The Law School also houses two interview practice rooms. Here, students can practice their interview techniques in a mock police interview room. The interview rooms can be linked to the mock moot courtroom via a live feed.
Seminar rooms
Ty Crawshay is home to various teaching rooms including small seminar rooms and larger lecture theatres.
LPC Rooms
Glamorgan's Legal Practice Course (LPC) students have two dedicated resource rooms. The first of these resource rooms offers the type of facilities that would be found in a legal practice library, including PCs and a range of practitioner volumes. The second provides a more flexible study space and is equipped with computers, an interactive white board and comfortable seating.
These facilities will enable students to gain valuable hands-on experience in a realistic environment.
The development will also feature a gallery area, IT lab, executive style meeting rooms and ?Crawshays' ? a new café bar.
