    The University of Silicon Valley Law School is a private law school located in San Jose, California. The school offers a part-time, four-year law program. The school is listed with the Committee of Bar Examiners of the State Bar of California as an unaccredited law school and is not accredited by the American Bar Association. As such, students must take and pass the First-Year Law Students' Examination, also known as the "Baby Bar", at the end of their first year in order to receive credit for their law study and eventually qualify to sit for the California Bar Exam.

    Admission Policy

    The Juris Doctor Program requires that the applicant have either an Associate's Degree, a Bachelor's Degree or have completed a minimum of 60 semester units or 90 quarter units of college credit in substantive subjects that are acceptable towards a Bachelor's Degree.

    Applicants may also qualify to enter the Juris Doctor Program by providing an official report of passing the (College Level Examination Program) A.K.A. the (CLEP) equivalency test for those who have not completed the required units of acceptable course work.

    To qualify through the equivalency test, a student must take and achieve a minimum score of 500 in the English portion of the examination and must pass with a minimum score of at least 430 in only two of the following four subjects: History, Humanities, Mathematics or Natural Sciences.     We do not administer, prepare or provide study material for (CLEP), but Sample Online Practice Exams are provided free of charge for those who are interested in preparing for (CLEP) by going to 4Tests.com.

    Admission Procedure

    Mail the completed admissions (Application) with the accompanying application fee to the Administrative Office. Applicants who are accepted must provide two copies of official transcripts by requesting that each college on their application send one certified copy to us at the Administration Office address and one certified copy to the: Committee of Bar Examiners, 1149 S. Hill Street, 4th. Floor, Los Angeles, CA 90015.
