ADMISSIONS POLICY
Our students come from widely varied cultural and educational backgrounds. Admissions decisions are made without regard to nationality, race, religion, age, disability or sex.
Applicants to Pacific West College of Law are evaluated for admission on an individual basis. An applicant's potential for law study is determined by the content and level of prior academic endeavors, life-time experience and achievements, the Law Students Admission Test, (LSAT) references and the admissions interview. These factors are considered under a totality of circumstances rather than by comparison to a set of predetermined numerical standards. New students are required to take The Law School Admission Test (LSAT).
Before applying for admission to law school, applicants are advised to investigate the requirement for admission to the practice of law in the jurisdiction in which they intend to practice. Students who meet all of the requirements of Pacific West College of Law and the Committee of Bar Examiners of the State Bar of California may take the California Bar Exam.
Transfer Applicants
Applications from students who wish to transfer from other law schools are considered according to individual merit. Pacific West College of Law will not discriminate on the basis of a grade earned where the previous law school awarded credit. All units completed and listed on the former law school's transcript will be allowed as transfer credit. Many students wanting a second chance at law school have found success at Pacific West College of Law. Transfer students must complete 45 units from Pacific West College of Law to receive a Juris Doctor Degree from Pacific West College of Law.
Pre-Application Counseling
All applicants are encouraged to seek pre-application counseling. This is an opportunity for applicants to ask questions or express concerns related to law school entry. It will provide specific insight into admissions requirements, the application process, and all aspects of law school. All applicants are encouraged to visit an actual class so that they may see exactly how Pacific west conducts its classes and they can ask questions of the Professor and students. Applicants interested in Pacific West College of Law should contact the Administrative Office to reserve a seat
