    The Thomas Goode Jones School of Law, also known as Jones Law or JLS, is one of the professional graduate schools of Faulkner University. Located in Montgomery, Alabama, Jones School of Law at Faulkner University is religiously affiliated with the Churches of Christ.

    ABA status

    On June 10, 2006, the school was granted provisional approval by the American Bar Association. On December 5, 2009, the Council of the Section of Legal Education and Admissions to the Bar of the ABA voted to grant the school full approval.

    Current status

    BAR exam

    Graduates from the law school perform extremely well on the bar exam. The bar passage rate for first time takers of the July 2007 Alabama State Bar exam was 92.7. Statistics for first time takers from the previous two July exams were 97.2% (2006) and 90% (2005). Graduates have a bar passage rate above 90% on out-of-state bar exams for first time takers. The bar passage rate for first time takers on the February Alabama bar exam are as follows: 91.7% (2008), 87.5% (2007), 83.3% (2006) and 100% (2005).

    School of Law Granted Full Approval by the ABA

    On December 5, 2009 the American Bar Association's Council of the Section of Legal Education and Admissions to the Bar granted full approval to Faulkner University's Thomas Goode Jones School of Law.

    This is a momentous achievement in the history of the School of Law.

    Dean Nelson states, "This achievement is the result of the hard work of many people who took this as a goal and pursued it. To all who played such a significant role in our development over the past five years, I want to extend our heartfelt thanks and our congratulations for a job well done. And, as in all things, to God be the glory."

    The School of Law continues to advance and improve on the quality of its legal education program. There are many more exciting years to come.
