    Can an employer fire somebody and then retract the firing 2 days later? Is that legal?
    Can the person refuse to accept the retraction? And seek unemployment e.g.
    Not sure why they did it??

    Yes, it's legal.

    Can the person refuse to accept the retraction?
    Yes, that person "can."

    And seek unemployment e.g.
    Probably would be ineligible due to refusing an offer of work.

    You're better off accepting the retraction, going back to work, and then looking for employment elsewhere. It's a lot easier to get a job while you are working than when you are unemployed.

    Not sure why they did it??
    Did what? The firing or the retraction?
