  • Independent Contractor: Dispute over walk in clientele

The portion of the contract that I have a question about reads this way:
Walk-in Clientele: Independent contractor will be fair and honest in the distribution of all walk-in clients.

Doesn't this mean that I as the independent contractor have control over the walk-in clientele?

I wish to inform you that independent contractor work is regulated through agreement between parties. In this regard independent contractor work is independent but the method of service may include terms of service. Terms of work can include that independent contractor will be fair and honest but the method of fair and honest has to be determined by independent contractor.

It means if you are in an office of independent contractors, you will not unfairly attain a superior amount of them in comparison to those obtained by other contractors.
Due to a recent promotion, I should now be referred to as Major Obvious.

I would not be trying to provide information and knowledge if I did not sympathize.

Some days it is just not worth chewing through the restraints to face life.

It basically means that you won't take the majority of clients, or take the best ones for yourself, and that you'll share them fairly and equally with the other contractors.

The clause of the contract means that as an Independent contractor you are supposed to distribute the desirable walk-in-clients fairly and honestly among the other Independent contractors.
