  • Question about commission payments

I recently left my job to work for a different company. My former employer does not want to pay me my commissions for work done while I was there. I've never had a commission position before, so I don't know whether or not I should expect my earned commission check or not. Does anyone know?

They need to pay it--or sue in small claims.

I would like to know how other cases of this sort have gone. Does CT tend to side for employee or employer? If a contract doesn't reference the employee handbook, does the handbook count as part of your contract? Furthermore, some payments from clients (that I would have received commission on) will come in after I've left. Are they obligated to pay me those commissions, as well?

      I appreciate your help!

You should be paid for completed deals.
