  • Searching for jobs on

Last night, I was on and was searching through the jobs available under the local \"admin/office\" positions category in my area. Someone posted an ad for clerical work, and I submitted my resume for the position. In response (via e-mail), I received what looked like a clear advertisement for a pyramid scheme to pretty much \"send this lady 11 dollars, and I\'ll send you all the materials you need to make money\" etc. I then posted a listing (anonymously) on craigslist, alerting users of the \"scam\", and that she\'s not in fact offering a job as she should be, and to stay away. I then e-mailed her telling her that it\'s a scam, and for her to stop. She kept responding to me, and I kept responding to her (she continued use of fowl language throughout the e-mails, but I remained cool and never said anything negative besides what I saw about how it\'s not an actual job). She said to me via e-mail that she will \"see me in court\" for making \"illegal accusations\" and \"harassment\". My question is, this lady seems nuts to me, does she have a case? I only responded to her responses, I never tormented her or anything, and I seriously (and firmly) still believe that this is nothing but a scam she is perpetrating. Her listing actually ended up being removed by craigslist, as apparently other users found her listing to be invalid (it takes multiple complaints to remove a listing, craigslist even advertises that). Please let me know, thanks!

She cannot successfully sue you and no real lawyer would take that case; you are free to give your opinion and it does sound like a scam to us by the way...
