No Final pay check

I wasn't paid my last check from my job.They just say they mailed it.Its been four months since I resigned.It was kind of a crappy job, so I think they assume I'll just give up and go away.

File in small claims court. That will make them pay asap.

WHAT TYPE OF EVIDENCE DO I NEED TO PRESENT IN ORDER TO MAKE SURE I PROVE THEY OWE ME. WHAT IF THEY STILL DON'T PAY?
