Will the company mail me a check for hours worked

They hired me at the pet place. I never filled out any forms for the job. No SSN, etc shown. I guess it was a trial run to see how I would do. I only worked two hours. They seemed very unprofessional there. They didnt explain how to do the job, just go to it. I think it was a digital time card they gave me.

I guess if they don't pay me I can sue in small claims?

You'll waste your time and your money. Go to your state's Department of Labor and file a wage claim. The state will have a lot more clout than you will.
