A retuning vet from Iraq with metal implants unable to stay in position of security officer with contrator for federal govt. due to federal regulations against metal implants. Given 45 days to find another position with contractor or be terminated. Others in same position, not returning vets, given 2 or 3 years to find other positions, and help to do so. They were disqualified due to heart disease or other illnesses, unable to qualify. No help offered this vet, who is still in shape to qualify, just unable to because of metal implants. Are there any regulations to help this vet? Sounds a little like discrimination to me.

Re: veteran discrimination
You could consult your nearest Department of Labor office to briefly discuss the issue with them first...you may also want to ask the company to put what is happening in writing and explain to them that you may have attorneys review the situation...normally they must make reasonable accommodation and cannot discriminate based on the kind of issue you face...contact wld directly if you have continuing problems.
