Brother was prescribed a medical device for his heart. When he applied it, after a short while it started to feel warm, he removed it and his chest had been burnt by the device. He has photos of the burns. The company is trying to get the device back, what should he do?

Visit multiple medical malpractice lawyers and have them advise you. Those cases are normally on contingency fee -- if they will take the case. So you pay ONLY if they win.

What does he want to do? Does he think he has won the personal injury lawsuit lottery?

How bad was the injury? Did he need any medical treatment beyond some salve and a gauze pad, if that much?

If the injury was superficial, with minor irritation, and no medical treatment, then a claim won't be worth a nickel and he might as well send the machine back to the company and get a replacement under warranty.
