  • Can a person on meds for Alzheimer or dementia can legally change POA?

I need to know if a person on meds for alz. or dementia can legally change power of attorney or make a new medical power of attorney. I thought they had to be of sound mind to do that? My sister is trying to take away my POA by getting my mom to sign some papers, and she says she has a medical POA signed recently. Thanks BTW we are in Texas

If the person is not of sound mind they cannot sign a new document. If a dispute exists about what is the actual situation, a court can hear all sides and make a decision.
