  • interfering mother in law

hello i really need some help with my mother in law who seems to think she can just jump in and do what ever she wants with my children. my children's father died almost 5 years ago we were divorced but we were married over 10 years and neither of us ever remarried. I have been having problems with this woman for over 20 years and now she has just broke the camels back. recently my 14yr old son got caught doing something wrong and i tried to correct him and he decided cus grandma lives next door he would just go live with her no matter that i have said no several times. he refuses to come home and she is encouraging his behavior. she keeps interfering and i really don't know if there is a legal action i can take to stop this. the only reason she wants him to be there is to get a hold of the money i get for him she did this with my oldest who is turning 19 and he has been paying her bills since he was 16 he is in iraq right now and all his pay goes to her. he is married and his wife gets nothing unless she agrees to live with this woman. and now she is threatening to divorce him if he does not cut her off. my mother in law some how has got a hold on my boys but she does none of this to my daughter who is currently 16 only to the boys. now i don't want to keep my children from seeing her she is of course their grandmother but i need to stop this crap from happening. pls any advise would be greatful. ps as far as moving i can't afford to move so i am stuck living beside her. if this helps everything started in florida and we now live in texas. texas says i can go in and forcefully remove him myself but my mother in law will not allow me on her property so i am stuck between a rock and a hard place

You have the rights if they are under 18 and no other court custody order exists. If need be you may even have the police come and escort you onto the property to resolve the issues with the children. You may want to let her know that.
