  • alienation of affection (Washington)

My husband and I have been married as long as time, over the past 2 years he has decided he no longer wanted to have sex, I asked him if he was having an affair and he emphatically denied it again and again. I finally discovered on his computer on New Years Eve of this coming year that he had sent an E- card telling this other woman how much he loved her and his plans for their future together. I found out she has been an employee of his in another country for the past 5 years and they have been building a relationship all that time, she knew he was married and that we had been married forever, we were lovers since highschool, I am shocked and devastated, all my dreams of our future together are now gone, can I sue her for alienation of affection, I believe my husband has given her controlling stock in one of his, our companies, I want her to pay for part in this if not at least be fired, she is half his age! Since I am still married to this jerk and living in Washington, and it is a 50/50 state, does this mean that half of his company which he owns majority stock in is half mine as well? Can I sue?

Yes approx. half is yours and he also should not be giving it away to this woman. A divorce judge is likely to deem that portion given away as still his. Make sure you get counsel to help ensure you get your share.
