Did the USA recognize my marriage abroad?

I got married in Turkey in June of 2004. Two days after the marriage I moved back to the US, and haven't seen him since. First off, was the marriage recognized by the US? And if so, how do I go about filing for a divorce? Is it possible to be legally married in Turkey, but not in the US?

It is valid but you can divorce here as well normally. Contact WLD directly below if you need further help to resolve it.
