  • giving up parental rights (husband is being accused of being the father)

My husband is being accused of being the father of a 1yrs old girl. which he had never seen nor DNA test been done to prove that. Her mother calls him about every 3-4months to harasse him. She tells him that she will file for child support and them tells him she just has not done so. she wants to wait a few years so he has to pay intrest. He has never seen the child never was married to that women. If the child ends up being his can he give up his parental rights and not pay child support? if it help any we live in Texas.

i know that (at least in michigan) if you sign over parental rights, you cannot waive child support, unless she doesnt go after it. on the other hand if another man adopts the child it would waive child support.

he cannot sign over his rights to get out of paying cs. unless and untill mom has a husband willing to adopt, your hubby is on the hook for cs wether he wants to be or not( and you have no say in the matter)

Feel better getting that out of your system,,,again? It really would help you look less like a complete fool if you took the time to check out the dates on these posts BEFORE you respond. For instance, the post you responded to was authored THREE YEARS AGO.

This is yet another reason these old posts need to be closed. They only pop up as recent when illiterate, troubled people ring in on them YEARS later.

doesnt matter . the last poster was correct-no judge will allow him to sign over his rights to get out of supporting a child HE helped create. if he didnt want children to support, he should have kept his damm pants zipped.
