  • Sole Legal Custody -- what rights are they giving up?

If a parent gives the other parent Sole Legal Custody, what rights are they giving up and what rights will they still have towards the children?

That parent makes all decisions as to health, school etc., but you can still have various visitation options.

can you stop visits when you have full and sole custody of the child and see he is comming home after the visits having panick attacks and depression at the tender age of three.

No. You unfortunately cannot. You can enroll the child in play therapy to help him work out his issues...but that is about it. My daughter is veering toward a full blown case of Multiple personality disorder. I'm doing what I can to keep her together - it's quite frightening. The more he hurts her...the more time he is GRANTED. Likely due to the stupid PAS theorists. No parent abuses their child..."must be false accusations from the child planted by the mother" - though I didn't know until childrens services did.

My daughters depression also started at 3. Feelings of worthlessness...no good...fat...ugly...stupid. She also had rage fits, crying fits and times where she'd come home, sit on the couch and stare at the wall for an hour. Now she has times where she doesn't seem to know me if I see her on her dads time. I say hi and she looks at me like "who are you?" She talks in a different voice and has drastically different likes and dislikes. I don't even recognize her voice when I talk to her on the phone.

But no...it is in her BEST interest to see her dad frequently! Not.

Try to find something your son would enjoy - check with your local Y see if they have activities. I enrolled my daughter in dance then gymnastics. She fell in love with the sport - and it helped but now she's realing toward depression and the other issues. He HATES gymnastics. Won't watch her...won't come and won't take her to her favorite class.

If your sole custody order has a visitation schedule, you have to follow it.

            Wow Gbyte, that's horrific.

Do you have sole custody of your child? That is one case where it's too bad the legal system wasn't so lopsided. The family court keeps good fathers far away from their children and bad fathers in constant contact.

But that also happens with mothers. The family court system is a joke that nobody should ever subject themselves to.

I don't care what the law says, I'd move myself and my child so far underground that bastard would never be able to hurt her again.
