Jan 8th 2013 me and my friends have been playing stupid games by knocking and kicking peoples door as a joke, and one door i had kicked really hard and it swung open and there was 4 of us and we got scared and ran away outside. On feb2th 2013 2 detectives come to my door and charge me for bne and theft contrary to 348 (1) (b) criminal code of Canada.The reason was because the people who lived in the house weren't home when this happened but got home withing 15 min because they were doing laundry downstairs.they state that 300$ cash had been gone and jewelry worth 1,200.00 had been gone. All the evidence they have is video and pictures of me entering the building lobby with my 3 friends. The incident happened on the 5th floor. there was a superintendent in the elevator with us and he had seen us press 5th and 6th floor. So all the detectives have is pictures of us entering the building and a witness saying that he saw us press 5th and 6th floor in the elevator. They had took me in the station and in the interrogation room i said nothing. But when the officers had arrested me at home i did admit i kicked the door but i never robbed anything. So now i have court march 8th and i don't want a lawyer because they are to expensive and plus im in my 2nd year of paralegal studies. i just would like to know what to do in this case because i have court on the 8th of march

You're a fool to think you can do anything about this yourself without the assistance of an attorney. You have only paralegal studies under your belt - and you cannot practice law. Even the courts do not allow a paralegal to represent a client in a criminal proceeding.

There are witness that saw you break down the door. No one knows whether any one of you or your friends stole this money, but the residents allege it was there before you broke in and it wasn't afterwards. It doesn't look good for ANY of you.

Get an attorney - NOW. It's your only hope.
