  • California, We want out of state parole to Oregon

My fiance is in a california prison, he has served his full term and will be released on parole in november 2013. I have relocated to the state of Oregon for financial and personal reasons. We are wondering how we go about asking or getting an out of state parole for my fiance so he can join me in Oregon. All his restitution for the victim will be paid in full by June 2013.

    Thanks,

He needs to discuss the issue with his parole officer.
Due to a recent promotion, I should now be referred to as Major Obvious.

I would not be trying to provide information and knowledge if I did not sympathize.

Some days it is just not worth chewing through the restraints to face life.

As Disagreeable says, this is a matter to discuss with his parole officer. Your fiancé will remain under the POs jurisdiction for some time after his release - long after the restitution has been paid in full. The new state would need to approve taking over his case. Some States do charge the parolee for their services as well, so you'll want to make sure that aspect is covered.

A lot will depend on how long he's been out, how long he is required to remain under supervision, how well he has been following the POs instructions and restrictions since his release, and the nature of his offense. I'd say most definitely not to even ask until after the restitution has been paid in full.
