So I really need some advice here I have a few qauestions. I was arrested about 6-7 months ago and let out on bail, now I missed my court date because I didn't want to miss the birth of my child and kind of scared. The charges against me are not right. They were brought up on me from well over a year ago.. id just like to get a rough idea at what I COULD be looking at

I know there is a warrant out, I was kind of just wondering what I could be looking at getting, and I know that it may be jail time. The court date I missed was in october. I had not been charged YET. Basically what I'm wanting to know is what could happen. If someone could email me for more info that would be greatly appreciated. [email protected].

Sorry, but witnessing the birth of your child DOES NOT trump making a required court appearance. Sure, you got to see the miracle of life in action, but you forfeited your bail money (or SOMEONE's bail money that was put up on your behalf), AND you jumped bail and now have a warrant out for your arrest.

At the VERY LEAST, that warrant makes you a wanted man. You risk being arrested at any moment, or having the police come into your home at any hour of the day or night to take you into custody - in front of your child and their mother. In addition, when you finally DO go to face your charges, regardless of how innocent you might be, you're going to look guilty as hell because you jumped bail. There's an almost certain chance they will end up remanding you into custody for the remainder of your time pending trial because you've already proven yourself untrustworthy to show up for your required court appearances.

As for what happens with your charges? Who knows. You haven't provided details as to what they are, nor any information that we could use to assess your guilt or innocence - and you SHOULDN'T do that here. If you don't already have one, hire yourself an attorney IMMEDIATELY, and discuss the option of turning yourself in. Get your head out of the sand, thinking that this will all go away, and deal with the issues you created for yourself.

The bail would have been forfeited, for starters. Most likely there is a warrant out for your arrest.

My advice is see a lawyer, turn yourself in, do the time until a hearing is held on the charges. Once they pick you up, you will be in jail, anyway. A lawyer will be best to prepare and plead your case for you and possibly get you a lesser sentence than you could for yourself.

I wish to inform you that the order of the court in last hearing will have to be observed. In this court can cancel your bail and order for warrant to be issued. You can contact clerk of court to know details of last court hearing. Further if you cannot appear on a particular date then court also has the power to cancel your bail bond as by non appearance conditions of that bond has been violated.
