Arrested for assault and mischief. GF does not want to press charges however Ontario law in Canada states it is up to Crown Council. How do you go about lifting the no communication set out in the release terms. Girfriend is willing to communicate and write the officer in charge. She did not sign a written statment or have pictures taken and wants to help by attending counselling sessions. No prior arrests. Clean record. Looking for advice on the best way to communicate and still abide by release terms. How do I get this lifted. Please help.

Try having each of you speak to the Crown prosecutor directly. They have the right to continue to pursue the case on their own (even if you don't want them to) but if they feel this was a one-time incident and will never happen again, they may and often will drop it. Offer to take counseling etc. if need be. -
