Assault in a USA Federal Building

I witnessed an assault in the Ronald Reagan Building in DC. One maintenance worker attacked another. Could the attacker be subject to Federal law as opposed to DC law? Do I have an obligation to report it to the GSA, who runs the building? I already offered my witness to the victim.

Federal law could apply depending upon what charges are brought or which causes of action are filed. Let the building staff and authorities know you witnessed it and they can decide what if any further steps need to be taken.
