The "amount financed" is 5000.00 more than the car is worth. Why is that?

Look at your financing agreement and sales contract. There are all kinds of additional add ons you may have signed for, in addition to the loan interest at a high rate.
Due to a recent promotion, I should now be referred to as Major Obvious.

I would not be trying to provide information and knowledge if I did not sympathize.

Some days it is just not worth chewing through the restraints to face life.

Because you agreed to it. Car prices are negotiable. Additional fees can be stacked on by the dealer. Whether they are justified or not is up to the individual before he signs the contract to finance the vehicle.
