Here is my question. Is it legal for an auto loan to take money from your checking account without permission? I had authorized a one time payment from my account but not the second one. Now this has caused my account 2 overdraft charges because the money was not in there.

I know what you mean. This had occurred to me several times and I have made duplicate payments. When you payed via the internet you gave HSBC your bank account information and set up "Auto Pay". Under "My Account" click on the link "Make a Payment". A window pops up and on the side links of that pop-up click on "Cancel Bill Pay Service".
I know, if you are like me and want to continue to pay via the internet, you now have to enroll again, but be sure that you DO NOT set for automatic pay.Comment
