Under my lease I am required to pay my rent + water + electricity bills. My roommates and I have no agreement, written or oral, to split the cable/phone/internet. I no longer live there, but I am continuing to pay for everything that I am obligated to pay under the written lease agreement.
Soon after I moved out, a person moved into the extra room in the house. So there are still 3 people living there. I told all the roommates when I moved out that I would not continue to pay for the internet/phone/cable bill. They are insisting that I have to continue to pay for those services, even though I will never be at the house to use any of those particular services. I am not breaching my lease because I am paying for everything that I am obligated to pay for until the end of my lease term (May 31, 2007).
My question is whether I am legally obligated to split the cable/phone/internet bill with them? Can they force me to pay for their luxury?
