I traded in my car for a new truck. My girlfriend ended up co-signing on the deal and now her name also appears on the title and loan account. now she has her original car entirely in her name but is "allowing" me to use it and refuses to give me the keys to the truck and says that its as much hers as it is mine and threatens to take her car away and leave me with no transportation if I don't like it. I want out of the relaitionship but I don't know the best course of action to get my truck back. All the paperwork comes to my house and my address is on all the contracts (she doesnt reside with me) The title is an AND/OR status and I am the primary account holder on the loan. She says if I want it back I have to take her to court. I am wondering if i have any legal rights over her, being that I am the primary borrower ,along with the fact that she hasn't paid a cent for the vehicle and I traded in my vehicle for the truck. Is there anything the police can do as far as legally returning it to me. The vehicle isnt registered yet, I dont know if that could have any effect in any manner. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you two cannot agree you may sell it or you may go to court and the court will make an order for how to resolve it so you are not both on title.
