    Do I have any legal standing here?

    As first time home buyers we were careful to ask lots of questions during the loan process to make sure we did not get in over our heads. During a meeting with our loan broker, he advised us that our first monthly payments would be due August 1, 2006. He explained that since the offer we made for our home was accepted on May 7, 2006, that escrow would close on June 7, 2006. Therefore, the loans would fund on June 7, 2006, and any amounts due on the loans between June 7, 2006 and July 1, 2006, as well as the first months payment would all be a part of the closing costs, as this is the norm with home loan closing.

    Seems you may have been cut off if you were copying and pasting a question, but hold him to the terms he promised you if that is your concern, and file in small claims if you need to--or file a complaint against him with the licensing board.
