  • HELP: Can I get my dog back from my ex neighbor/friend

well back in september i was moving out of my apartments, i couldnt take my dogs (2) at the moment,(a 6yr old Female and 1yr old Male) so my neighbor offered to watch them for a month. there was NO written agreement. I came into another situation a few days later and i asked her for a longer time, she said it was OK. We kept contact almost every day and she would always ask when im going to pick up one of my dogs, because i told her i couldnt handle both so it be best if she could find a good home for my younger one. I explained my situation and going back and forth with time she gave me till january or she was going to give my dog away. My dog got pregnant while living with her, so when my dog had her pups she told me she was going to SELL them, i told her just to give them away to a rescue shelter or to people who really wanted them(it was around xmas) so then i told her my boyfriend friend wants a puppy to give to his mom for xmas, and she said OK. 2 days later she calls hysterically saying shes giving my dog away, i abandoned her, which is untrue, I visited my dog, gave her food for my dog, and told her id reimburse her for any money spent! i then had a police escort but she wouldnt open the door!!

i have found the "new owner"and talked to her but she wont give her back to me either. my problem is i DONT have legal papers. Her vaccine papers were lost when i moved out. Ive called the clinics and they dont have her records anymore!! ive been told to file a small claims but is it really going to get me anywhere??? i love miss and adore my dog, shes been with me through thick and thin. I have witnesses that KNOW thats my dog and had seen my X neighbor taking care of her, i have a witness that was there when we made the verbal agreement and i have pics of me and my dog together and my son and my dog together from when i was pregnant with him o when he was just a baby till now that hes 4yrs old. The "new owner" told me 2 days ago that she got my dog neutered and chipped!!! i have to admit i was 15 when i got her, never thought to get her any type of documents as i got older i never thought somebody would be this cold hearted and take my baby away from me. is there any chance of me winning the case and getting my dog back?? I NEED HELP, I NEED ADVICE I NEED everything i can get. PLEASE help!!!

If you tell a judge this, he normally will say at that point, you gave the dog away--and that the dog is no longer yours.

Male dogs get neutered if their owner loves them. Even if they don't get "fixed" they generally aren't able to have puppies because famale dogs have puppies when they aren't "spayed" or "fixed". Vaccination records can get lost I suppose... Maricopa County, home of the Arpiao Clown will keep records of "Rabies" vaccine and literally "Hound" you for the money and proof of that particular "shot" every year as needed... Guaranteed!
If you had a "legal/tagged" dog in Phx, Az. you could bring your many colorful bills from Joe to prove ownership... if the dog matched what the description said and came to his/her name....
