How long can a company call for collection on a debt? My husband had a debt about 15 years ago and we have been married 8 years. We paid on the debt for awhile about 7 years ago and then stopped. They are still calling. They never put the debt on his credit report. They are under another company name.

Yes, that does not reduce the amount owed. But you can try to negotiate it down.Comment

If i's past 7 yrs it is SOL Statute of Limitations is over with , you might have the debt taken off your cedit reports since it has been 7 yrs.Comment
