Does a Status of deficiency apply in the state of Ohio?

Question:
I live in GA and file a chapter 13 in 2005 for several rental properties in OH, and my spouse does not file with me for the chapter 13 and I decide to give back the properties to the mortgage company. Will my spouse be responsible for any of the real estate debts?

Does Ohio have a "status of deficiency?

If he signed yes he will be responsible but otherwise normally no in those states; but best to have local counsel confirm given your overall details as well if critical for you.

They can sue for deficiency.
