a few months ago, i signed the title of my car over to my boyfriend because at the time i could not have it in my own name. I PAID FOR THE CAR. he REFUSED to give it back to me because he had put a few hundred dollars of work into it. i just found out that he let his friend drive it, and now it is wrecked. and now i do not have a car.. not that i really did before, but now im really f****d. I NEED a reimbursement. what do i do?? HELP

You have one thing right. You are really screwed. You essentially signed over a car to him without any kind of purchase agreement.

Once you signed that title over, the car was his to do with as he chose. When he put work into it, he was putting work into HIS car. When he let his friend drive it and wreck it, he did it to HIS car, NOT YOURS.

You have no one but yourself to blame here. You have nothing to sue him for, and he has no obligation to reimburse you - AT ALL.

YOU don't have a car anymore.

There are two areas of law; Law and Equity. The signing over of the title was a legal act. But because you bought the car, equitably it is yours. You have had an equitable interest in it -- like 100%.

You can sue him in small claims court for the cost of the car and his negligence lending it to someone else.

She gave the car away. Going to court and advising a judge she attempted to commit some type of fraud, likely for social services, will only cause her more problems.

You go into the court and make case on behalf of your boyfriend. you will surely get justice from the court, and you will get your car back with you.

If the car was signed over to the boyfriend, it's NOT HERS ANYMORE!

If there was no agreement for him to pay her for the vehicle, SHE CAN"T GET ANY MONEY FROM HIM FOR IT.
