  • The amount aloud in court

I live in washington state and do you know what is the limit you can sue for in civil court? If property was stolen do you have to bring a police report to court to prove the property was stolen?
    Thank you

Do you mean in small claims only? ...there are other civil courts?

What happens if your claim is more than $4,000 which court do you go to now?

You can claim just 4000 or move to regular court where you normally will need a lawyer. Sometimes you can break up the claims if they can be viewed as separate issues or payments due on different dates etc.
