Had patio and yard contractor in july 2003. Total cost of job approx 18,000. Job was supposed to take 2 weeks. We paid 11,000 in july 03. He finished work in sept 03. We called 3 or 4 times to tell him areas of the patio had sunk, and never heard back from the contractor. He did not send any bill and did return our phone calls. 15 months later dec 04 we recieve a bill for 10,000. We called him and said we were never happy with the work, several areas need to be fixed. After the ice and snow melted the contractor came to look over the work. He said he would fix the problems in sept 05. we said we would agree to pay 8,000 when the job was finished. He never called or showed up in sept 05. 15 months later again, in Dec 06, we get a bill for over 11,000 (he added interest) and a letter saying he will take us to court if we do not pay. How long can a contractor continue to bill us? Is there no time limit?
